2020 rose

The Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir grapes used in this blend came from 20 and 30 year old vines, respectively, grown at an elevation of 650 feet. Old vines lend a natural balance to the wine. These two varietals were co-fermented together to increase complexity and balance.

Tasting notes:

Inviting right from the first sip. Mt. Hood Strawberries, apricot, watermelon, and rhubarb with rustic, earthy undertones. The acidity is on point, and the light phenolics add depth. Fresh & vibrant with no residual sugar. I feel obliged to say that this would be a great summer wine, but to be honest, Rose tastes great regardless of what season it is.

Harvest notes:

Vitae Springs Vineyard sits tucked into the Eola-Amity Hills of the Willamette Valley, Oregon, where it receives cool marine breezes flowing in from the coast. The grapes were picked on October 3 following a beautiful growing season. This vineyard only had moderate exposure to the smoke which devastated most of the Pacific Northwest this year. The Jory and Nekia soils at Vitae Springs produce an energetic and focused fruit profile.
