2019 rose

Made in a very similar way as the 2018 Rose, this wine really shows the quality coming from One Heart Vineyard in the South Salem Hills, Willamette Valley AVA. Just like the previous year, this wine is acid-driven with beautiful aromatics and no residual sugar. It has a natural balance with a comforting structure that exhibits what this vineyard has to offer. The Pinot Gris & Pinot Noir were again co-fermented to increase complexity.

Tasting notes:

Inviting right from the first sip. Mt. Hood Strawberries, apricot, watermelon, and rhubarb. The acidity is on point, and the phenolics add depth. Fresh & vibrant with no residual sugar. I feel obliged to say that this would be a great summer wine, but to be honest, Rose tastes great regardless of what season it is.

Harvest notes:

One Heart Vineyard sits on a hill with a southwestern aspect overlooking the sprawling Willamette Valley. By chance, the grapes were picked on Friday the 13th in September during the full harvest moon. Earlier in the growing season, Kate Taylor, the vineyard owner, caught a striking picture of two full rainbows framing the vineyard right after a summer rain. Although this is my first time working with fruit from the One Heart Vineyard, it seems that there's something written in the stars about these vines.
